We built Guide to Cambridge because the city deserves better than generic listicles. Here's what we're doing differently.
Why Another Cambridge Guide?
Cambridge, Massachusetts is one of the most intellectually dense, culturally rich cities in the United States. With Harvard, MIT, and a thriving innovation ecosystem packed into just 6.4 square miles, there's an extraordinary amount happening here. Yet the online resources available to residents, students, and newcomers are surprisingly thin — dominated by generic Yelp reviews, outdated travel blogs, and paywalled magazine features. We set out to build something better: an independent, reference-grade guide that treats Cambridge with the depth it deserves.
What Makes Us Different
Every listing on Guide to Cambridge is locally verified. We visit businesses, eat at restaurants, and ride the T. Our neighborhood profiles aren't scraped from real estate databases — they're written from the perspective of people who actually walk these streets.
Editorially Curated
Every business and restaurant is selected by our editorial team, not by who pays us.
Neighborhood-First
We organize everything around Cambridge's distinct neighborhoods because that's how the city actually works.
Transit-Aware
Every listing includes transit information because most Cambridge residents rely on the T, bikes, and walking.
Always Free
No paywalls, no premium tiers. Guide to Cambridge is a public resource.
