.A. Burdick includes a flourishing, worldwide mail order business, retail chocolate shops in Boston and Cambridge, Mass., New York City and Walpole, N.H., a French-inspired restaurant and a small specialty grocery store.

The company has changed, but our methods and values have not. We still import only the best couvertures from Switzerland, France and Venezuela, made with cocoa beans sourced primarily from South and Central America and the Caribbean. Confections are made in small batches and, eschewing molds, we cut and shape our bonbons by hand. Complementing flavors and ingredients come directly from their sources, never from extracts, concentrates or artificial flavorings.

Efforts to procure ingredients of superlative quality led us to help establish the Cocoa Farming Future Initiative in Grenada. We support cocoa farmers on the famed “Spice Isle” by broadening the use of the fragrant and expressive beans they grow there.

Whoa. I mean probably everyone knows about this place, but... whoa. So good. Their drinking chocolate would make me sell my car to get more. (Although I will say, it would be nice if there were an option to purchase a half portion, as it's VERY rich.)
The truffles are amazing. The desserts are GORGEOUS and very tasty. And the staff is so friendly... and patient. 🙂

Pastries are amazing with very good quality chocolate. The ”harvard square” is their signature pastry made with dark chocolate ganache and it's amazing. Also the chocolate croissant is a great option to pair with a coffee. I tried a mocha coffee with dark chocolate but it was too bitter so try adding a little sugar if you have that.

Exquisite pastries and superb service! Particularly enjoyed the Burdick cake and the Hazelnut Orange Peel roll. Both reminded me of the fine Viennese pastries from my childhood. My daughter had a few Luxemburgers (that's what their macaroons are called) and they must have been very good, because she ordered more. Highly recommended!

The high price tags reflect the superior quality of the chocolates. Thus is definitely a place to go for a special treat
