Hip, wood-paneled cantina serving modern Mexican street food plus mezcals & many tequilas.
The tacos are pretty good, the Dallas Beef is phenomenal but the chorizo is just okay. Very cool atmosphere and the employees are very nice. Also options for people that have egg and dairy allergies!
Avocado and cheese taco - fantastic!
Chicken tostada taco - Fantastic!
Guacamole - Fantastic!
Poke Ceviche - Really good, but very spicy.
Carnitas taco - salty, little too crispy.
Dallas Chili taco - way too salty.
The food is solid. I won't lie, when I'm homesick for Texas I go here. Some of the better tacos in town. But in my heart of hearts I can't give five stars because the place is just too hipster. I'm tired of precious food, I just want something delicious that doesn't think of itself as "artisanal" and doesn't charge you double for the privilege of stroking some moral self-satisfaction. Also, let's be honest. Saying the tacos are the best in Boston is a low ass bar.
Placed an order, table of two, some time. Served 5 individual tiny plates at radom time increments over a 10 minute window. Couldn’t help but look at the table a foot away and see big people plates ordered off of the same al la carte micro menu. The food was the definition of mediocre. I don’t think the server knew what verde sauce was but was nice. Quality definitely doesn’t justify cost. Atmosphere is nice if you want to be left alone by the server. There is more effort put into this review than they put into their menu.
Great food, good atmosphere, good service and great beer selection.
